Description
This qualification is intended for learners who want to undertake training, or further develop their knowledge and skills, in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation.
It is recommended for first aiders in the workplace who have access to a defibrillator.
Course overview
Learners achieving this qualification will understand the role that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation play in the chain of survival.
They will also understand the importance of maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective administration of CPR and AED use.
Certificate validity
This qualification is valid for three years. Learners will need to repeat the qualification after this period, although annual refresher training is recommended.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, however TQUK recommend that learners hold a valid EFAW certificate.
Learners should have a minimum of Level 1 literacy or numeracy, or equivalent.
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 years and above.
Guided learning hours
Guided Learning Hours are made up of all real-time contact time, guidance, or supervision provided by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer, or other appropriate education or training provider.
GLH for this qualification is 6 hours.
