Description
The purpose of the TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is for learners to develop the knowledge and practical competences required to deal with a range of emergency workplace first aid situations.
This qualification gives learners the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to provide appropriate care and manage life-threatening conditions and injuries in the workplace.
Learners will gain the knowledge and skills required to provide emergency first aid in an occupational setting in a prompt, safe and effective manner, meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid Regulations.
Course overview
The qualification is usually delivered as a one-day programme of training and assessment for learners who are in work, or preparing to work, allowing them to act as emergency first aiders in low-risk workplace environments.
Certificate validity
If this qualification is being used to meet HSE requirements, it is valid for three years. Learners will need to repeat the qualification after this period, although annual refresher training is recommended.
Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements. Learners should have a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy, or equivalent.
The recommended minimum age for this qualification is 14 years.
Guided learning hours
Guided Learning Hours are made up of all contact time, guidance, or supervision provided by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer, or other appropriate education or training provider.
GLH for this qualification is 6 hours.
